Chesapeake Feline Association
About
Chesapeake Feline Association (CFA) was formed and approved as a 501(c)3 organization on October 30, 2009. CFA is an all-volunteer, non-profit, no kill feline rescue.
CFA was originally founded by a group of women who were trapping in public areas such as shopping centers, public parks, schools, and community neighborhoods. These women were working independently and decided to form a Trap-Neuter-Return organization. Their goal was to reduce the unchecked breeding of free roaming cats, thereby addressing the over population crisis in Cecil County, Harford County and surrounding counties in Maryland.
CFA has grown substantially over the last 14 years. We are dedicated to the rescue, care, and adoption of homeless felines in Cecil County, Maryland. Our goal is to find loving forever homes for adoptable animals placed in our care.
Until their adoptions are finalized, a haven is provided for them at the Chesapeake Feline Association’s shelter, located in North East Maryland. Long term residents who remain unadoptable will live the rest of their lives at our shelter surrounded by love and attention from our volunteers.
Since our inception, over 4000 fully vetted felines have found loving homes through our organization.
We remain committed to creating a better world for cats and kittens by providing feline population control through spay or neuter. Chesapeake Feline Association applies for grant funding to provide free spay/neuter services to residents who receive government assistance and community cat caretakers.
